Stance, footwork, guard and combinations. The foundation both classes are built on — and the part most gyms rush. Here you drill it until it's automatic.
Private Kombat is a small combat academy in Vaughan. Classes are capped at 20 so mistakes get caught and corrected the moment they happen — not three months later, after they've become habits.
Kickboxing on Saturday, MMA on Sunday — built in the right order, at a pace that matches the room. No filler cardio, no choreography. You learn technique that holds up under pressure.

Saturday's class. Kicks, knees, clinch and defence — range control, balance, and how to throw hard without leaving yourself open on the way back.
Sunday's class. Where the striking meets the grappling — takedowns, positional control and ground work, informed by a judo black belt and seven years of fighting.
Two adult sessions a week, and every one counts. Show up on time, bring your gear, and you'll feel the difference inside a month.
Striking week. Technique, drilling and controlled work — scaled to whoever's on the mat that day. Beginners and experienced fighters train in the same room, which is exactly how it should be.

I started Private Kombat because I can see a mistake and fix it on the spot. That's the whole idea. When the room is small, correction is immediate — and correction is what makes you improve.
Big gyms take your money whether you get better or not. Here, I know every person on the mat, what they're working on, and what's holding them back. The cap is 20 for one reason: past that, I stop being a coach and start being a crowd manager.
The other half of it is the people. This is a community that pushes you — training partners who show up, hold you to it, and make you want to come back next week.
Judo black belt. Seven years as an MMA fighter, four years coaching. Both classes at Private Kombat are taught by Ali — there is no rotating roster of instructors and no one gets handed off.
Train when you can. Pay for the class you show up to — nothing more.
Pick Saturday kickboxing or Sunday MMA and hold your spot in the 20 every week.
Both classes, every week. Works out cheaper than paying drop-in twice and holds your spot in the 20.
All prices in CAD. Spots are limited to 20 per class. Once a class fills, new members go on a waitlist.
Two things are expected of everyone who trains here, and neither is negotiable. Get them right and you'll fit in from day one.
Not sure what to buy or what size? Message @coachalifor before your first class and you'll get a straight answer.
Send a message and Ali will get back to you personally with the next available spot. Classes fill at 20 — earlier is better.
